About CCMI

Who is Circulo Capizeño of Melbourne, Inc. (CCMI)?

The word “Circulo” is Spanish for “circle.” It signifies a close-knit, inclusive group united by shared heritage, culture, and goals. This circle represents community and togetherness, embodying the sense of unity among Capizeños and supporters of Capiz culture in Melbourne.

The term “Capizeño” refers to the people of Capiz, encompassing their unique customs, language, and way of life.

At CCMI, we provide charitable initiatives both locally and in the Philippines.

Our Mission

To serve the poor and needy in Capiz, Philippines by providing compassionate, accessible medical assistance to those who lack essential healthcare.

Rooted in values of honesty, integrity, and love, we are committed to uplifting our community with annual medical outreach, addressing healthcare gaps in remote areas, and fostering a culture of giving back.

We strive to be a source of hope and support, empowering those in need with dignity and without judgment, to improve lives now and into the future.

Our History

Since its establishment in 2004, CCMI has been a steadfast force for good, driven by a mission to uplift underprivileged communities in Capiz, Philippines. Rooted in compassion and a commitment to making a difference, CCMI has consistently taken action where help is needed most.

Responding to Natural Disasters

Over the years, CCMI has extended vital support to communities affected by natural disasters. Following the devastation of Typhoon Yolanda, our team brought immediate relief to the hardest-hit areas by distributing essential groceries and even constructing water systems for deserving victims.
Similarly, during Typhoon Frank, we prioritised aid to Olotayan Island, a severely affected area, by providing medical services and sending over ten door-to-door boxes filled with clothes and groceries to families in need.

Supporting Education in Rural Areas

For more than 16 years, CCMI has paid special attention to improving education standards in public elementary schools across remote villages in Capiz.
By offering resources and assistance, we aim to empower young minds and create brighter futures.

Reaching Remote Communities

CCMI’s dedication to underserved areas is exemplified by our annual medical missions. We journey to far-flung villages—places that are often difficult to access—to provide much-needed healthcare to those who would otherwise go without.
Our commitment ensures that even the most isolated communities feel the warmth of support and care.

Collaborating for Change

CCMI’s collaboration with organisations like Gawad Kalinga (Capiz Chapter) has further expanded our impact. While not directly involved in their housing development projects, we have participated in initiatives such as the GK Capiz Bayanihan Challenge, working alongside them to witness and support their community-driven efforts.

From disaster relief to educational support and medical outreach, CCMI’s history is defined by unwavering dedication to improving lives.

Each step forward is a testament to the power of community, compassion, and cultural pride.
